Ayşesu Zapsu is a curator and researcher born in Connecticut, USA, and raised in Turkey. She has been based between London and Istanbul since 2018. She studied her BASc at University College London and recently completed her MFA in Curating at Goldsmiths University of London.

Her practice centres the politics of care, accessibility, and health, working at the intersections of art with chronic illness and disability experience. Drawing on crip theory and disability justice, she questions ableist structures embedded in the art world and proposes models of slow working and horizontal collaboration that resist chrononormativity, advocating for care as both a method and a form of politics.

Recent work includes co-curating the Creativity & Wellbeing Week 2025 programme at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in London, organising workshops, talks, and events for patients, families, hospital staff, and local communities. She has also contributed to Create London's artist residency and exhibition with Delaine Le Bas, the 2024 Turner Prize nominee. Her ongoing project Crip n Care, initiated at Goldsmiths, is a curatorial initiative exploring how experiences of illness, rest, and solidarity might shape more accessible and sustainable forms of collective practice.
